  • Black Girlhood Memory Project

The Black Girlhood Memory Project is a multi-part historical exploration leading to the curation of a comprehensive and chronologically documented textbook and curriculum that focuses on the history of Black girlhood in the US and Global contexts. We will use archival research, oral histories, and other unique and necessary methods of exploration to document the stories of Black girls throughout history. While we plan to include well-known stories of girls like Latasha Harlins and Ruby Bridges, we want to also give increased exposure to girls whose stories have not been shared as frequently and widely. Because of this, we are asking Black girls and women to contribute to the creation of this textbook by sharing their stories with us.
